The most common mistake in CS2 peeking is insufficient movement control and shooting on the move. This is a very important point, because you want to get an advantage by jumping out at your opponent, but you start shooting on the move, the bullets fly past the target, and you die. You must understand when the moment comes for the model to stop and only then shoot. This comes with experience and practice.
The second problem is excessive confidence. Flying out at your opponent with a wide peak and opening up for all possible positions is certain death. You should do this only if you know where your opponent is or for an exchange game.
